Anamaria Marinca is an Romanian actress. Her screen debut was with Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 movie for which she was awarded the British Academy Television Award as the best actress. She speaks French, German, English and Romanian proficiently. Her mother was a violinist The father of her is a theater professor in one of the best Romanian drama schools. The actress won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year in 2000 at the Mangalia Young Actor Gala. She was chosen as the first European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in 2008. The film won two awards at Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). Youth Without Youth, a Francis Ford Coppola movie, was also a part of her career. The role she played was Yasim Awar in BBC's 5-episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca is a regular on Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. Then, she played major roles in 2014's Fury where she played Irma her German aunt of Emma.
