Aunjanue The. Ellis Taylor, American actor and producer. She holds a BA in African-American Studies from Brown University as well as an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Aunjanue L. Ellis is an American actor and producer. She is active in films theater and television. Her acting career started in the theatre. She then appeared in several television shows, independent films and mainstream film. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she received critical acclaim and numerous nominations and awards including the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. Her professional acting debut with the character Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. Alongside Broadway's Come and Gone, she also has credits for Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. In her film career, she's best known for parts like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. In the world of television, her role on ABC's drama series about police High Incident has earned her the praise of her fellow actors.
